Updated Character Bios

IMPORTANT AUTHOR’S NOTE: Hi, folks! Shame, here! Just three quick things!:

1. I wanted to address some formatting issues. I’m experimenting with different ways to improve clarity during the changes sections, however, being on mobile, whatever I do to put additional spacing between entries gets screwed up when I press publish. Whether it’s a draft or an edit, card text (using the quote option on the site’s text editor) will be centered but deletes any space between entries. If anyone knows a fix, I’d be grateful, otherwise I’ll just keep experimenting with new ways to improve readability and clarity.

2. I REALLY AM SOLICITING INPUT. If you guys come up with a clever pun, or think of words that can be completely changed by a single (or a couple) letters, or a sentence that gets totally flipped by the addition of a single word, dirty words that rhyme with non-dirty words, homophones, antonyms, stat swaps—anything you think would be fun or hot! I’d love to hear them as suggestions! I love the pedantry of all of this, but sometimes it’s hard to rack my brain trying to come up with the perfect sentence or scouring the dictionaries.

3. How is the game being tracked?: I made a simple Chutes and Ladders board with color coded squares determined randomly (with some exceptions). I really am rolling dice for the characters and moving them in turn. I don’t think I’m going to publish the board I’m using in case I need to fudge things or fix a mistake. The rulebook revealing rules as we go is both a way to prevent readers from getting overwhelmed by walls of text regarding rules of a board game they’ll never play and also me figuring it out as I go. I don’t even know all the rules yet, lol, and they won’t be important until they come up. If anyone is a board game hobbyist or something and notices something I might want to look out for or patch, I’m all ears! I’m not really a board game guy, so I’m just writing rules that make sense to me, but may not be super good for “balance” lol.

Talia Lee:

Piece: Yellow

• When landing on a yellow square, roll an additional letter for the resolution phase. Failing challenges adds an additional letter to your next letter change.

• Add an additional consonant to next letter change.

• When moving on the board, you may only move a maximum of five spaces.
• MOMMY KNOW’S BEST: You must always behave as if you have consent from the other players regarding sexual interactions. You may not ask for consent to initiate a sex act or physical or stop a sex act or physical due to protest. Each time you break these rules, -1 to your next movement roll. Resets every round. Movement rolls can be negative.

Rewards:

• Whenever they draw a category card for a letter, number, word, or wild change, the player will now be presented with three statistics or facts in their biography: they choose which one is changed.
• Holds one challenge veto

Hank Tock:

• When landing on a blue square, always change an additional word. Failing a challenge adds an additional word to your next word change.
