Once upon a time in Ancient Japan, Yoshi Katadadsu - a legendary samurai chosen by Amaterasu herself to stop the Yokai from invading our dimension, was making an epic last stand against Mazoku - the Demon King, who was attempting to bring about the non-Biblical apocalypse!

It wasn't the end thankfully, cause after single-handedly taking out waves upon waves of the nastiest bastards that the 64,000 hell realms had to offer, a tired-yet-unwavering Yoshi - at the cost of his own life - defeated the dreadful Daimao, cutting him up into billions of tiny pieces and reciting a spell that scattered him to the deepest depths of not just Japanese hell, but every hell and hellish dimension in the multiverse! But because prophesy says that no man can permanently kill Mazoku, he would eventually be back, slowly reforming and patiently waiting for the day when he can once again reek havoc on not only the mortal realm, but also the godspace and even Heaven itself!

With his dying breath, Yoshi recited a spell that split his soul into 5 parts before sending each piece across time & space to the present day to find 5 beautiful-yet-capable young girls, all of whom are in their late teens & early 20s and from various corners of the world, who would make the perfect team of samurai superheroines who - with his teaching & guidance - are the only ones that can defend humanity from the awakening Oni (as well as monsters, kaijus and other evil entities from Japanese mythology) and - in time & God-willing - finally defeat Mazoku once and for all!
