Thankfully, yes. Though not where he expected.

As he patrolled the grounds, he was having trouble finding Emerald. It wasn't until he made his way to the roof that he finally honed in on his target.

Emerald was standing by herself on the rooftop, arms crossed, looking out at the forest with a frown on her face.

"Excuse me, Ma'am. Students aren't meant to be up here" he said.

Emerald turned around and saw him, then gave him a small smile

"I know that. But I also know that you're a student too" she said with a small laugh.

"Yeah well. I came up here to get away. Figure you did too?"

Emerald frowned again

"Just a little disagreement with my team. I needed time to decompress" she sighed.

She was definitely on guard - but him making a joke and also being a student was clearly making her more comfortable. But he knew he couldn't just lunge for her...
