FUTORIAN EXPANSE
Beyond the main gate of Maidenhead City, the urban bustle of the capital gives way to a cultivated rural expanse that serves as the city’s breadbasket and a buffer against the wilder hinterlands.
The most dominant feature is the Main Road, a broad, well-traveled thoroughfare of compacted gravel and stone that leads from Maidenhead’s Residential District toward other provincial towns.
Scattered among the fields are numerous farms, their occupants primarily freeholding farmers and their families, along with a small number of indentured slaves who work the land.
To the west the terrain rises into a ancient forest where many a futa has gotten lost, never to be heard from again.
