Your grandmother, Her Imperial Majesty, Pharaoh Elisabeth the First: founder of the Carpathian dynasty, has led the colony for over 3 decades, from when it was a feminist neo-pagan survivalist cult, through 'Armageddon', and into this new era of danger and chaos when it is beset on all sides by enemies and strife. She has proved to have charisma and the ability to convert even die-hard Christians and Muslims to the worship of the Egyptian Pantheon, a talent you hope you share, because within hours you will, as her eldest surviving child along the maternal line, inherit the Triple Crown of New Egypt.

You have been preparing for this moment your whole life: the day you cease to be a Princess of the dynasty and heir apparent and become Pharaoh in your own right, and it both terrifies and excites you.
